FSU English Honor Society will Present Banned Books Reading
Release Date: 09/19/2008

Frostburg State University’s Lewis J. Ort Library, Sigma Tau Delta, and the English Honors Society will present an evening of readings from books deemed controversial enough to be banned or challenged. The readings will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7:30 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Lewis J. Ort Library.

This event will be held in conjunction with the American Library Association’s annual Banned Books Week: Celebrating the Freedom to Read. This yearly commemoration, as the ALA notes, “reminds Americans not to take this precious democratic freedom for granted.”

For further information, contact Dr. Mary Anne Lutz at the FSU Department of English at (301) 687-4237 or mlutz@frostburg.edu, or Jeffrey Maehre at the Lewis J. Ort Library at jamaehre@frostburg.edu.
