Garrett County Memorial Hospital, in conjunction with Frostburg State University, will offer an information session for the new RN to BSN program on Oct. 8, in the hospital Board Room, 251 N. 4th St in Oakland.
Sue Coyle, Coordinator of Nursing at FSU, will be onsite from 8 a.m. to noon and will present an overview of the program at 10 a.m. Coyle will also answer individual questions and review transcripts. Nurses who would like an unofficial review of their college work for transfer credit should bring an unofficial transcript or list of college course work with them
The RN to BSN program provides area nurses with a pathway to baccalaureate education that is affordable, accessible and student-oriented. Courses will be offered in a blended instructional format with most coursework being offered online to maximize scheduling flexibility for working nurses. Classes will be small enough to guarantee individualized attention from faculty with real-world knowledge and experience. This session is open to all nurses in the community who are interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
