Latin jazz group Latino Trio will perform as part of Frostburg State University’s Lunch in the Loft Music Series sponsored by the University Programming Council on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. in the Derezinksi Lounge/Loft in the Lane University Center.
Formed in 1995 by Fernando Roman of Grupo Latino Continental, Trio Latino has enjoyed success as one of the Mid-Atlantic’s foremost Latin jazz ensembles. With the growing national and regional recognition of their explosive blend of Latin rhythms, the band performs jazz improvisations with a signature-style reverence for Latin salsa, cumbia, samba and meringue. Since their debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the group has been featured at major festivals, clubs and cabarets, colleges and universities, as well as corporate and civic events throughout the region.
The performance is free and open to the public. For information contact the Lane University Center Information Desk at (301) 687-4411.
