Frostburg State University’s Chamber Choir will present its Fall Choral Concert Friday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hancock, Md., and Sunday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington St., Cumberland Md.
Under the direction of Dr. Karen Soderberg-Sarnaker and accompanied by pianist Betty Jane Phillips, the Chamber Choir’s performance will include Mocnik’s “Motet Verbum Supernum Prodiens” (Slovenia), Busto’s “Ave Maris Stella” (Spain) featuring baritone Arnold McNeal and the Hebrew arrangement of Shavu’ot by Jacobson. The choir will also perform “Three Choral Ballads” by Stenhammar (Sweden). The choir will also be accompanied by clarinetist Elizabeth Maloy and organist and former Chamber Choir member Daniel Weatherholt. The choir will conclude the program with “Kondalilla” by Leek (Australia), “El Hambo” by Mantyjarvi (Finland) and “Domaredansen” by Hallberg (Sweden), conducted by Charlene Beyerlein, student conductor.
