Frostburg State University psychology students last semester created a Web site designed to serve the needs of those who work most closely with children with disabilities: their parents, families and educators.
Students in Dr. Megan Bradley’s Psychology of Exceptional Children course populated the site (http://faculty.frostburg.edu/mbradley/disabilities/umd.html) with information about legal rights, resources for families and teachers, inspirational stories and frequently asked questions. The site will be updated regularly, and new resources will be added as they become available.
“The students were very passionate about two areas related to children with disabilities: combating negative stigmas associated with children who had disabilities and also informing parents of their rights under federal law. This site accomplishes both goals,” Bradley said.
The site went live at the end of last semester. For more information, contact Bradley at 301-687-4194.
