Frostburg State University President Jonathan Gibralter accepts a check from NewPage Corp. Public Relations Manager Patsy Koontz, representing part of the additional pledge of $21,000 NewPage made recently to the Frostburg State University Foundation Inc. in support of the NewPage scholarship program. Joining them is Bernard J. Davisson II, FSU vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the FSUF.
With this pledge and other gifts totaling $22,350, NewPage has committed more than $43,000 to FSU since the start of the $15 million comprehensive campaign, Staking Our Claim: The Campaign for Frostburg.
The FSU Foundation has embarked this campaign on to raise badly needed funding for higher education in Western Maryland. Donations to the Foundation support student scholarships and programs, academic programs, faculty development and other critical University needs.
