Frostburg State University student Hannah Lagno will perform her junior percussion and piano recital on Thursday, March 5, at 8 p.m. in FSU’s Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. This performance is free and open to the public.
The recital will include piano pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Claude Debussy and more. Lagno will also be performing percussion pieces by Yannis Xenakis, Steve Korn, Elliot Carter Jr. and Gordon Stout. Lagno will be joined by FSU senior Mark Gauthier. Lagno and Gauthier are both percussion instructors at Kauffman’s Music Store in Cumberland, Md.
Lagno is a music education and performance major, with a double concentration in piano and percussion. She hopes to earn a doctorate in music, teach percussion at a college level and perform in an orchestra. Lagno is in the Collegiate Percussive Arts Society and is a member of the Freshman Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma. Lagno, from Queenstown, Md., is the daughter of Fred and Sue Lagno.
