Contemporary folk singer and songwriter LEA will perform at the FSU’s Lunch in the Loft Series sponsored by the University Programming Council on Thursday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in the Derezinski Lounge/Loft in the Lane University Center.
LEA is from the Washington, D.C., area, and is a new recording artist on the national music scene. The Washington Area Musician’s Association nominated LEA for “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best New Artist” in 2008. “LEA’s music goes beyond folk, to the soulful frankness of blues and melodic complexity of modern jazz,” says Garth Ross, Program Coordinator for The Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage. LEA has toured throughout most of Europe and recently performed in Germany where she appeared with jazz ensemble “Black & White” and with British pop group “Indigo Wild.” LEA is a popular campus entertainer throughout the country and is praised by campus program boards across the nation for her talented musicianship, alluring stage presence and professional attitude.
The performance is free and open to the public. For information, contact the Lane University Center Information Desk at 301-687-4411.
