Frostburg State University junior Jessie Ragland will perform her vocal recital Sunday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. The recital is sponsored by the FSU Department of Music. The performance is free and open to the public.
Singing in the vocal range of soprano, Ragland will be accompanied by pianist Judie Brown. Ragland will perform several pieces from Mozart, Handel, Aaron Copeland, Brahms and Von Gluck.
As a vocal performance major at FSU, Ragland hopes to perform with symphonies around the world upon graduation. She is expected to graduate in fall 2010. Ragland is a member of Delta Omicron, FSU Chamber Choir and the University Chorale. She has performed under the leadership of faculty member Patricia Kelby. Ragland is a 2006 graduate of McDonough High School and the daughter of Bonnie Ragland.
