TIPS of Western Maryland will be conducting an Alcohol Awareness Training at Frostburg State University on Sunday, March 8, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Lane University Center room 201.
TIPS is a required program for at least one person from any establishment that serves alcohol. It informs workers of the liabilities that come with a liquor license, how to deal with and handle patrons and ends with a four year Maryland certification upon completion.
The cost of the training is $20 per person to pay for the booklets. FSU will cover the rest of the expenses. Advance registration is required. Checks can be made out to the trainer Fred Herath.
Two spaces are reserved for representatives of each Frostburg-area establishment that attended FSU President Jonathan Gibralter’s meeting with bar owners. A valid photo ID is required. To register or for more information, call 240-522-5762.
FSU is committed to making all of its programs, services and activities accessible to persons with disabilities. To request accommodations through the ADA Compliance Office, call 301-687-4102 or use a Voice Relay Operator at 1-800-735-2258
