Multiple pianos will crowd the stage as Frostburg State University piano faculty, FSU piano students and guests from the Cumberland area present a concert with 15 pianos on Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Pealer Recital Hall. This concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature 18 performers on up to 15 pianos at one time. Featured pianists from the Frostburg and Cumberland areas will include Joan DeVee Dixon, Laura Godfrey, Samantha King, Jean Kobert, Chris McCabe, Betty Jane Phillips, Amy Riffle-Kouyeas and Nancy Witmer. Featured FSU piano students include Josh Bernstein, Jordan Delisser, Amy Jaklitsch, Kienan Lewis, Joy Marsiglia, Beccah Pruitt, Matthew Purnell, Jackie Skeweris, Erin Wheeler and Amanda Zimmerman.
Selections will include “Semper Fidelis,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” “Sabre Dance” and “Pachelbel’s Canon for Five Grand Pianos” arranged by Jane Tan. Other selections are “Calypso Holiday,” “Calypso Sunrise,” “Hanabera,” “Jazz Dance” and “Kentucky Romp” arranged by Susan Olgilvy.
