Frostburg State University student Amanda Zimmermann will perform her senior piano recital on Sunday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Art Center’s Pealer Recital Hall. This performance is free and open to the public.
The recital will include piano pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Franz Schubert, George Gershwin, Hagwood Hardy and Rich Mullins.
Zimmermann plans to graduate in May 2009, earning a Bachelor of Arts in piano performance. She hopes to teach piano and to one day obtain a master’s degree in music education. Zimmermann has received multiple grants and scholarships, including an Academic Honor Scholarship, a Talent in the Arts Scholarship, a Maryland House of Delegate Grant and a Frostburg Alumni Association Scholarship. Zimmermann, from Cumberland, Md., is the daughter of Craig and Christine Zimmermann.
