Because of his upcoming book, “Gridiron Leadership,” Frostburg State University College of Business professor Evan Offstein has been selected to join the voting panel for the Ronnie Lott Trophy. The award is for the most outstanding NCAA defensive football player who exemplifies integrity and character on and off the field.
Offstein will be joining Howie Long, Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Dick Butkus, Jack Kemp, Doug Enberg and Steve Young on the panel to vote on the winner of the award. Voters for the trophy are college offensive and defensive coordinators, former head coaches who make up the Master Coaches, the Board of Directors of “The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation,” “The Lott Trophy” Board of Advisors and selected members of the national media.
The award is the first trophy to acknowledge personal character as well as athletic performance from a defensive college player.
