Frostburg State University student Kara Gross will perform her senior vocal recital on Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.
Singing in the vocal range of soprano, Gross will be accompanied by pianist Betty Jane Phillips and Mark Gallagher on clarinet. The performance will include pieces by George Handel, Robert Schumann, Reynaldo Hahn, Gabriel Faure, Claude Debussy, Wolfgang Mozart, Giacomo Puccini, Aaron Copeland, George Gershwin and Alan Jay Lerner.
Gross is a music management major with a concentration in voice at FSU. She is a member of the FSU Chamber Choir and University Chorale. Gross has studied under faculty advisors Dr. Jonathan Hodel and Dr. Kerry Lee Jenkins. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and has traveled to China as a part of a University delegation in the spring of 2008. Gross, who plans to graduate in December 2009, is the daughter of Melissa and Eric Gross and a 2004 graduate of Maurice J. McDonough High School.
