Frostburg State University’s Center for Creative Writing presents New York Times best-selling author Steve Almond reading from his work at FSU’s Cook Chapel on Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. The reading is free and open to the public.
Almond, a California native, has been writing fiction for over 10 years. His work can be found in a wide variety of literary magazines, including “Nerve,” “Polite” and “3: AM.” He also includes short story collections, such as “The Evil B.B Chow” and “My Life in Heavy Metal”. In 2004, Almond published a non-fiction book titled “Candyfreak: A Journal Through the Chocolate Underbelly of America,” a story about his life as a candy addict. Almond has been a co-author in a number of books and has been a contributing writer for award winning plays. Almond’s most recent work, “Not That You Asked,” is filled with wonderful exploits and obsessions. “Publishers Weekly” says, “Almond has an original, fresh voice and compelling stories to share.”
