Release Date: 04/28/2009

Story Photo
Frostburg State University alumna Theresa Testoni, left, and Cherie Krug, FSU’s Director of Major Gifts (top photograph), share a moment of triumph after reading an official proclamation from Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley acknowledging the University’s volunteerism and service-learning efforts. Testoni and Krug, both representatives on the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, presented the proclamation in front of a crowd of nearly 1,000 Relay for Life participants Friday, April 25, on the FSU campus, in honor of National Volunteer Week and FSU’s own Earth Week 2009. FSU raised over $42,000 and counting in funds for the American Cancer Society as part of its annual Relay for Life event.
