Frostburg State University senior David Durham will perform his senior recital on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. Durham, who plays the horn, will be accompanied by pianist Betty Jane Phillips. The performance is free and open to the public.
Durham will perform “Allegro Moderato” and “Poco Adagio, Quasi Andante” by Ludwig van Beethoven and “Allegro Molto,” “Andante” and “Tempo I” by Franz Strauss. After a brief intermission, Durham will return to play “Wohin,” “Du Bist die Ruh” and “Gretchen am Spinnrade” by Franz Schubert and “Massig Bewegt,” Ruhig Bewegt” and “Lebhaft” by Paul Hindermith.
Durham is a music education major with a concentration in performance at FSU. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and CMENC. Durham has future goals of becoming a music teacher and performer. Durham, who plans to graduate in May 2010, is the son of David and Ann Durham and is a 2005 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School.
