Frostburg State University will celebrate Leadership and Homecoming Weekend from Friday, Oct. 16, to Sunday, Oct. 18. This year’s event will focus on FSU’s growing future and the opportunity to share ideas and positive changes that both alumni and current students have experienced. Events will include the All-Campus Sing, tailgating, and a chance to attend the campus-wide Career Expo and numerous athletic contests.
The weekend’s activities officially launch with the Campus-Wide Career Expo on Friday. The Office of Career Services invites successful alumni from numerous professional fields and graduation eras to share their life experiences with our students. The Maryland Printmakers Exhibition, showing the diverse range of expression found within printmaking, will open Friday at 7 p.m. in the Stephanie Ann Roper Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Building. Admission is free, and the exhibit can also be viewed Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
If you think “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent” are exciting, wait until you see what FSU students have come up with! Join students, faculty and fellow alums at the bigger-than- ever All Campus Sing event sponsored by Sigma Alpha Iota. All Campus Sing is a way for students to showcase their musical talents in a competitive environment. The event starts Friday at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall. Cost is $3 per person, or $2 for anyone wearing Greek letters.

Cat if you can on Saturday, when social media sleuths and Bob fans alike will gather at 11 a.m. at FSU’s Clock Tower to find out who won Back to the 'BURG, Frostburg's first-ever online scavenger hunt for FSU alumni! Are you ready for some football? Starting at 11 a.m. Saturday tailgating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Stadium Lot, along with FREE parking. For a complete list of tailgating rules and regulations, visit the Web at http://alumni.frostburg.edu and click on “Leadership & Homecoming Weekend.” Tailgating will be held until 1 hour after game has ended. At noon, the Student Government Association Pre-Game Social will kick-off pre-game festivities. Join current students before the football game for a spirit rally at Bobcat Stadium and with FREE food! The event of the day starts at 1 p.m.
Come and support the FSU Bobcats as they take on Ithaca College at Bobcat Stadium in a clash of the football titans. Come out and show your spirit by wearing your RED and BLACK and cheer on the FSU football team! Admission is FREE.
After the game, The Black Student Alliance will host a Making Connections and Networking Workshop & Reception in Room 201, LUC at 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Student Government Association, along with the Black Student Alliance, will sponsor a Late Night Dance Party. The party will begin at 10 p.m. Saturday in the Main Arena in the Cordts PE Center.
To complete Leadership and Homecoming Weekend 2009, at noon Sunday the Student Government Association will host its Big Event to help clean FSU’s neighborhoods Everyone is asked to gather in the Lane University Center Manicur Assembly Hall. Alumni teams are welcome. The event is designed to give back to the local community with a day of service.
