Frostburg State University junior Lane Conklin Jr. will perform his vocal recital Sunday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall. Singing in the tenor range, Conklin will be accompanied by pianist Betty Jane Phillips. This event is free and open to the public.
Conklin will perform several pieces written by composers Vincenzo Bellini, George Frederic Handel, Robert Schumann, Henri Duparc, Samuel Barber, Kurt Weill and Gioachino Rossini.
Conklin is a Vocal Performance major at FSU. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and president of Student National Association of Teachers of Singing. He has future goals of performing opera internationally and to teach the art of the voice. Conklin, who plans to graduate in May 2011, is the son of Andrew and Beverly Conklin and a 2006 graduate of Chesapeake High School.
