The Frostburg State University Department of Visual Arts, along with the Art Club and Kappa Pi, will host the 2010 Biennial Student Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition, to include students from all academic majors, will run Friday, March 5, until Tuesday, March 30. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Friday, March 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.
FSU students were encouraged to submit artwork to the exhibition. The entries were judged in one of six categories: graphics, painting, printmaking, photography/digital, ceramics, illustration and 3-D design. Nationally known artist Beth Piver will judge the contest.
Winners will receive monetary awards and those students who are BFA candidates can earn departmental scholarships.
The Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery is free and open to the public. The gallery is open Sunday through Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information about the exhibition or the Roper Gallery, contact the FSU Department of Visual Arts at 301-687-4797.
