Frostburg State University senior Elizabeth Maloy will perform her senior clarinet recital on Friday, April 16, at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Pealer Recital Hall. This event is free and open to the public. Maloy will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joan DeVee Dixon and Britany Poindexter, soprano.
Maloy will perform “Sonate pour Clarinette et Piano, Op. 167” by Camille Saint-Saëns; “Syrinx” by Claude Debussy; “Der Hirt auf dem Felsen, Op. 129” by Franz Schubert; and “First Concerto for Clarinet, Op. 73” by Carl Maria von Weber.
As a music performance major at FSU, Maloy is a member of Friends of Music at Frostburg and the Honors Program. She has received multiple scholarships, including the Talent in the Arts Scholarship and Academic Honor Scholarship from FSU. Maloy expects to complete her degree in May 2010. She is the daughter of Timothy Maloy and Renée Pelletier and a graduate of Thomas Stone High School.
