Frostburg State University’s Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Kenneth D. Witmer Jr. has been elected to the national Board of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) and to the national Board of the Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and Universities (TECSCU).
The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education is an influential national alliance of educator preparation programs dedicated to the highest quality professional development of teachers and school leaders. The 800 institutions holding AACTE membership represent public and private colleges and universities in every state.
The Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and Universities is an organization committed to providing an education of excellence for the youth of America. TECSCU member institutions rely upon it for policy development, direction, and services to improve schooling at all levels.
Witmer is also chair of the University System of Maryland College of Education Dean’s Council and a board member of the Maryland Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
