Community members will have the choice from hundreds of free books, distributed between Monday, May 3, and Friday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Frostburg City Place on Water Street.
The Christian Appalachian Project donates books to Frostburg State University’s A STAR! AmeriCorps program to distribute free of charge to the residents of Western Maryland. Teachers and professors are encouraged to stop by early because some books include the same materials that have been used in schools and classrooms.
Volunteers are needed to help sort and distribute books on each day of the project. If interested in volunteering, e-mail pobrien@frostburg.edu, jlsellers@frostburg.edu or lclark@frostburg.edu.
This project is sponsored by AmeriCorps, FSU’s Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement and the City of Frostburg. It is funded in part by the Governors Office on Service and Volunteerism and the Corporation for National Community and Service.
