Ahoy me hearties! The Frostburg State University Children’s Literature Centre and Frostburg First are teaming up to provide pirate tales, crafts and treats for a full day of “Frostburg’s Pirates Ahoy” on Wednesday, July 14.
The day of free activities will begin with pirate registration at 9:30 a.m. at Frostburg’s City Place. Following registration, all pirates can take part in a treasure hunt in Frostburg and solve the mystery clues to find some special goodies to add to their loot. There will be a flurry of activities at City Place on Water Street, including face painting, craft workshops and a costume contest. Young buccaneers will also be treated to a presentation by children’s illustrator John Manders in his pirate den. The restaurants of Frostburg will be open to offer a leisurely lunch following pirate events as well. Businesses will also have special deals for visiting buccaneers.
For more information about this event, call the FSU Children’s Literature Centre at 301-687-3133 or e-mail clc@frostburg.edu. Spaces for “Frostburg Pirates Ahoy” are limited, so call or e-mail to register your pirate tribe for groups of five or more.
Bring your buccaneers ... and don’t forget your pirate costumes!
