Many people believe careers in Hollywood are strictly limited to acting, writing, producing or directing, but Brent Scarpo, who will be speaking at Frostburg State University on Oct. 4 and 7, demonstrates that talents from all majors can apply to the industry. With over 20 years of experience in the business of Hollywood, Scarpo will enlighten his audience on the realities of Hollywood and the steps to take to begin a career in the entertainment industry.
“The Road to Hollywood” is free and open to the public. High school students and students from surrounding colleges are encouraged to attend. The presentation will take place in the Leake Room of the Cordts Physical Education Center from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 2 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 7.
Scarpo will provide insight on the unique opportunities different majors can offer students and how to apply them to the entertainment industry. He will also provide sample resumes for various positions in the entertainment industry and a list of major studies and their job hotlines and websites. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
