Frostburg State University Assistant Vice President for Student Services and Dean of Students Dr. Jesse Ketterman has been selected as a member of The Daily Record’s 2010 VIP List, for Very Important Professionals who are successful by age 40.
Many Marylanders have played an important role in the state’s impressive growth in recent years. Ketterman was selected because of his outstanding professional accomplishment, civic involvement and impact of achievement before age 40. He will be honored on Sept. 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at an award ceremony held at the Baltimore Museum of Art and profiled in a special magazine in the Sept. 24 issue of The Daily Record.
“Frostburg State University, our students and the surrounding community have all benefitted enormously from Dr. Ketterman’s professionalism, work ethic and ability to form strategic partnerships,” said Dr. Tom Bowling, FSU’s vice president for Student and Educational Services. “This award is a well-deserved recognition of the efforts he has made throughout his career at FSU.”
Ketterman recently received a national award as Mid-Level Student Affairs Professional of the year by NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. He has served various roles as a student contact liaison over his more than 11 years of employment at FSU, including director of Student Development and assistant and associate director of Residence Life. He has two master’s degrees from Frostburg State University in business administration and education and holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Touro University International. He is a member of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs, American College Personnel Association and the National Association of Student Personal Administrators.
