The Frostburg State University Department of Music will present a joint senior recital by trumpeters David Wall and Grant Davis on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Wall is a Southern Garrett High School graduate and music education major. He is a Dereck Scott student and will perform Benjamin Britten’s “Fanfare for St. Edmundsbury,” Kent Kennan’s “Sonata for Trumpet and Piano” and Eric Ewazen’s “A Hymn for the Lost and the Living” and “Colchester Fantasy.” Wall will be accompanied by pianist Nancy Witmer.
Davis graduated from Fort Hill High School in 2006, and is a music education major. He is also a student of Dereck Scott and will be accompanied by Dr. James Lyons on piano. Davis will perform Benjamin Britten’s “Fanfare for St. Edmundsbury,” Norman Dello Joio’s “Sonata for Trumpet and Piano,” Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Concerto in E-flat” and Ewazen’s “Colchester Fantasy.”
Other performers include Philip Klickman, French horn; Brian Plitnik, trombone; Kayla Lewis, tuba; and Brooke Speake, trumpet.
