As part of Frostburg State University’s Leadership and Homecoming Weekend 2010, FSU alumnus and Washington Nationals Manager Jim Riggleman will participate in an open question-and-answer session on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 11:30 a.m. in room 226 of FSU’s Compton Science Center. The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the session.
Riggleman, who graduated from FSU in 1974 with a major in health and physical education, was a baseball All-American for Frostburg and is a member of the Bobcat Hall of Fame. He became Nationals manager in July of 2009. He has also managed the Seattle Mariners, the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres.
The session will open with a brief presentation by Baseball 4 Cumberland, a group that is working to bring professional baseball and a sports and entertainment complex to Western Maryland.
