Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present “The Unaccompanied Clarinet,” a recital by FSU’s Clarinet Studio and Ensemble, on Monday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
Under the artistic direction of Dr. Mark Gallagher, the Clarinet Studio will present “Monolog No. 3” by Erland von Koch, performed by Emily Hornbaker; “Rhapsody for Solo Clarinet” by Willson Osborne, performed by Jasmine Chung; “Syrinx” by Claude Debussy, performed by Amanda Gold; and “Arlequin” by Louis Cahuzac, performed by Sarah Galvin.
Members of the Clarinet Ensemble are Ariana Brown, Jennifer Fernandes, Jasmine Chung, Sarah Galvin, Mallory Cook, Amanda Gold, Rachel Culley and Emily Hornbaker. They will perform “Bach Chorale Settings” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Serenade No. 13, K. 525” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “The Wexford Carol,” a traditional Irish carol.
