Frostburg State University student Ryan Atlow will perform his senior percussion recital on Sunday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. in Pealer Recital Hall in FSU’s Performing Arts Center. This performance is free and open to the public.
Atlow will perform “Toccata for Timpani” by Emma Lou Diemer, “Dusting the Connecting Link" by Dave Holliden, “Parody” by Jesse Monkman, “Lucid Dreaming” by Scott Ward and “Metric Lips” by David Steinquest. Atlow will be assisted by Hannah Lango on vibraphone, Justin Smith on marimba and Robert O’Neal on marimba.
Atlow, who plans to graduate in December 2011, is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He hopes to earn a doctorate degree in music performance with a minor in music composition, and he would like to perform and compose music. Atlow is the son of Rachel and Kevin Young of Waldorf, Md., and Mark and Ann Marie Atlow of Yorktown, Va., and is a 2006 graduate of Thomas Stone High School.
