Frostburg State University will display the interactive exhibit “EmPOWER Maryland: You Owe It to Yourself” in the lobby of the Lane University Center through March 18. The exhibit is provided by Maryland Energy Administration and gives users the opportunity to learn how to save money and conserve energy.
As participants move through the display, they are given a worksheet to check energy-saving behaviors they already engage in and behaviors they are willing to try. Participants will then go to the “calculation station,” where their behaviors are translated into a personal savings amount. They will decide what they will do with the savings by 2015 and turn it in to the MEA. The goal of the exhibit is to encourage users to make a more conscious effort to incorporate energy-saving techniques into their everyday lives.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Lane Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., at 10 a.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. For more information about this event, contact Lawrence Gingerich at 301-687-4360.
