The Frostburg State University Department of Visual Arts, along with Kappa Pi and the Stephanie Roper Gallery, will host the 2011 Student Art Show. The exhibition, to include students from all academic majors, will run Friday, April 1, until Wednesday, April 6. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, April 1, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.
FSU students are encouraged to submit artwork for the exhibition on Tuesday, March 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Roper Gallery. There will be a $3 entry fee per artwork, and all artwork must be ready to display. Entries will be judged in the categories of two- and three-dimensional.
Winners will receive monetary awards of $150, $100 or $50, and those students who are BFA candidates can earn departmental scholarships.
