Frostburg State University, Student and Educational Services, the Leadership Studies minor and the J. Glenn Beall Jr. Institute for Public Affairs will sponsor the forum “Building Global Diplomacy and Global Careers Through Campus Leadership Development Opportunities” on Wednesday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 244 of the Lane University Center.
The forum will feature presentations and a documentary excerpt by FSU students, who traveled as part of a leadership delegation to Hunan Normal University in March, and Tom O’Herron, a retired Foreign Service offer, who will share his experiences and suggestions about foreign service employment opportunities. FSU students and faculty who have traveled to HNU and HNU students attending FSU will also present.
Increasingly, universities are engaging in a form of global diplomacy as they build global relationships through students engaged in international education opportunities. FSU is offering more opportunities to engage in this type of diplomacy building, and this forum offers a way to learn more. Resources regarding leadership development opportunities at FSU will be available.
For more information, contact Dr. Elesha Ruminski, chair of communication studies and co-coordinator of the leadership studies minor, at 301-687-4480 or firstname.lastname@example.org; or Professor Timothy Magrath, lecturer of political science and executive director of the J.
