Frostburg State University’s Cultural Events Series presents the athletic artists of the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. in the Cordts Physical Education Center Main Arena. The performance is presented as part of FSU’s annual Family Weekend celebration.
The traditions of Chinese acrobatics, magic and juggling originated over 2,000 years ago in the Hebei region of ancient China. The Chinese Acrobats of Hebei carry on these traditions in a dazzling show that includes such traditional feats as hoop diving, hand balance, contortionism, chair stacking, martial arts, foot juggling, plate spinning, the Chinese Poles and the comically delightful Lion Dance. With their unbelievable feats of agility and strength, spectacular costumes and props, and a lush musical score, the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei will present a gravity-defying blend of martial arts, contortionism and aerial movement that will captivate the entire family.
Tickets for floor seating are $16 for adults and $11 for youth under 17, while those for bleacher seating are $10 for adults and $7 for youth. Corporate and group discount rates are also available.
