Frostburg State University’s Cultural Events Series will present the foot-stomping energy of Compagñia Flamenca José Porcel on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Lane University Center’s Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall. Featuring some of the world’s most acclaimed flamenco dancers and musicians, the company is renowned for performances that radiate with the vitality and intensity of this passionate art form. As Spain’s foremost flamenco company, they bring the age-old gypsy traditions of Andalucía to life.
As part of CES’ Arts for Enrichment series, community members will also have the chance to learn some flamenco moves of their own. A free master class will be presented on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 4:30 p.m. in the Lane Center Atkinson Room (232). Space in the class is limited and reservations are required. Interested dancers should contact cesoutreach@frostburg.edu to reserve a space in the class.
