Frostburg State University student Erin Wheeler will present her senior piano recital on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
Wheeler will perform “Sonata in F Minor, Opus 2, No. 1” by Beethoven; “Notturno Op. 54, No.4” and “Wedding Day at Troldhaugen” by Edvard Grieg; “La Sérénade Interrompue,” “Les collines d’Anacapri,” “Ce,qu’a vu le lent d’Quest” and “La fille aux cheveux de lin” by Debussy; “Malagueña” by Ernesto Lecuona; and “Bumble Boogie” by Jack Fina.
Wheeler is a member of Delta Omicron Music Fraternity, Friends of Music at Frostburg, the Pre-Professional Medical Society and the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society. Wheeler is on the Dean’s List and has been awarded a performance at the Department’s annual President’s Concert both this year and last year. She is a graduate of Bishop Denis J. O’Connell High School and is the daughter of Joseph and Mary Wheeler of Waldorf, Md. She expects to graduate this December with a bachelor’s degree in piano performance.
