The University Programming Council at Frostburg State University will present musician Rachel Brown on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Lane University Center Manicur Assembly Hall. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required through the Lane University Center Box Office.
Rachel Brown is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter whose music fuses pop, Caribbean, Hawaiian, country, hip-hop and world sounds into a captivating groove. When accompanied by her band of talented African musicians, Brown’s Bermudan and Ethiopian heritage shines.
Brown’s honest lyrics and melodic sound are unique and fresh, unusual for a new and upcoming artist. Brown has opened for Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke at Bermuda’s National Stadium, as well as John Legend and Quincy Jones at the Bermuda Music Festival.
