Frostburg State University Programming Council will host a presentation by Dr. Ahmad Tootoonchi, dean of the FSU College of Business, titled “What It Takes to Be an Authentic Leader” on Monday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the Atkinson Room (232) of the Lane University Center.
Tootoonchi will speak about how survival in a profession depends on knowledge and skills relevant to that field, as well as the importance of developing a “leadership mentality.” He will discuss the roles of character, commitment and understanding of human nature in leadership effectiveness.
Tootoonchi is a co-author of the book “Foundation and Practical Elements of Leadership” and chief editor of “The Journal of International Business Disciplines.” He is also president of the International Academy of Business Disciplines. He has received three Outstanding Teaching Awards and published numerous articles in the field of leadership and organizational behavior. He has conducted many workshops and seminars and has provided consulting services for academic, business and nonprofit organizations.
