From outrunning an explosion to fighting giant bugs to defeating the aliens with a well-placed computer virus, movies are filled with exciting things that are related to science. At Frostburg State University, learn how real that science is with the presentation “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in Science as Portrayed in the Movies” on Monday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in Compton Science Center 226. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Joanne Budzien of the FSU Department of Physics and Engineering will show clips from blockbuster movies and discuss what science says could, would or should happen in those circumstances. You’ll learn that some of the things in “real” science are, in reality, stranger than what the movies dare to show.
