Frostburg State University will present the premiere of “Made in America: A Red, White and Blue Musical Celebration,” a collaboration of the talents of the students and faculty in FSU’s Departments of Music and Theatre and Dance. Performances will take place in the Drama Theatre of FSU’s Performing Arts Center on April 27 and 28 and May 2, 3, 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on April 28 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 for students and $12 for the general public.
Clockwise from top are “Made in America” ensemble members Gordon Duguid, Haley Schott, William J. Clark as American cowboy Will Rogers and DeAndriea Norman.
Created and directed by Mairzy Yost-Rushton, with musical direction by Chris McCabe, this musical variety show is a collaboration between University Theatre, the FSU Dance Company and the FSU Chamber Choir. This performance offers audiences the chance to look at America under the banner of five prominent themes: “From Sea to Shining Sea,” “Sweet Land of Liberty,” “Made for You and Me,” “Americana (America All Over Again)” and “Home of the Brave.”
With special faculty contributions by Dr. Karen Soderberg Sarnaker, Jamie McGreevy, Dr. Joan DeVee Dixon, Dr. Mark Gallagher, Gordon Duguid and Sheri Whalen, and additional contributions by William J. Clark, Danny Durr and Ryan Mullaney, “Made in America” is truly a red, white and blue extravaganza no one will want to miss.
