Frostburg State University student Jennifer Terry will present her junior soprano vocal recital, accompanied by pianist Judith Brown, Sunday, April 29, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. This concert is free and open to the public.
Terry will perform Franz Shubert’s lively and energetic piece “Der Schmetterling” (“The Butterfly”) as well as his piece “Naucht und Traume” (“Night and Dreams”). The program includes the pieces “Reve d’Amour” (“Dream of Love”) and “Claire de Lune” (“Moonlight”) by French composer Gabriel Faure. Terry will also perform pieces by composers Alessandro Parisotti, Benedetto Marcello, Francesco Durante, Hugo Wolf, Reynaldo Hahn, George Frederic Handel, Thomas Arne, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Johann Strauss.
Terry studies voice with Dr. William Koehler at FSU. She is a member of the University Chorale and has been listed on the Dean’s List. A 2005 graduate of Glenelg High School, Terry expects to graduate from FSU in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in music management and a minor in business administration. She is the daughter of Judy and Bob Terry of Woodbine, Md. Terry plans to work for a radio station or record company, all while continuing to sing and perform.
