Through March 16, during this year’s AmeriCorps week and in honor of AmeriCorps’ 20th anniversary, Frostburg State University’s A STAR! in Western Maryland program is hoping to spread the impact of service and good deeds by encouraging others to act kindly.
A STAR! is challenging everyone to take part in the celebration by committing to performing five acts of kindness during the week. To make your pledge, visit tinyurl.com/ASTARchallenge.
A STAR! would also like to hear what people are doing to fulfill their pledges. To share your story or the story of someone you witnessed performing an act of kindness, email VOICE@frostburg.edu. For more information, contact Volunteerism and National Service Student and Community Involvement at 301-687-4210.
A STAR! (Appalachian Service Through Action and Resources) in Western Maryland is part of the AmeriCorps Alliance for National Service. The A STAR! program is managed through a partnership with FSU, the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown, the Maryland Governor’s Office of Service and Volunteerism and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
