Frostburg State University Community Collects 100 Thanksgiving Food Baskets

Frostburg State University students, standing, from left, Mouna Mawolo and Brandi Hawkins, and AmeriCorps volunteer Erin Lewis, seated, hold a small fraction of the 100 baskets of food collected by FSU student organizations, athletic teams, campus departments and individuals that were distributed to area families in need in time for Thanksgiving. In addition to the baskets filled with food, including a turkey, ham or a gift card to cover the purchase of a turkey or ham, $400 in extra gift certificates were donated.

Frostburg State University recreation and parks management majors take on that duty by organizing the Halloween Party at City Place in Frostburg, giving the students practical hands-on experience while providing local children some spooky fun.

Every Kid Needs a Good Story: FSU’s 2016 Holiday Book Giveaway

Help inspire the children of Western Maryland with some of your favorite stories during the 2016 Holiday Book Giveaway, a Frostburg State University Center for Literary Arts program. Through Friday, Dec. 9, CLA, in partnership with Toys for Tots and the Family Crisis Resource Center, is collecting new and like-new children’s books to distribute to kids of all ages, from newborns to teenagers, across Western Maryland.

The American Prize recently named Frostburg State University Chambers Singers and University Chorale as semi-finalists in the Choral Performance category, college and university chorus division. Frostburg Issues Second-Round Student Sustainability Fee Funded Grants
