Spring Author Series
The annual
Spring Author Series was held in March 2008.
Spring Festival of Children's Literature
This year the CLC celebrated its 26th year and welcomed Betsy Lewin, Ted Lewin, Kadir Nelson,
and Deborah Wiles
to the 26th Annual Spring Festival of Children's Literature.
The festival offered participants the following activities:

| Book sales and autographing |
| Small group presentations focusing on the latest
educational trends and topics in |
| children's literature |
| Friday evening reception, Saturday morning continental
breakfast and lunch |
| Door prizes and raffles. |
Summer Author Institute
The
Summer
Author Institute will be held on
July 7, 2008 through July11, 2008 at Frostburg State
University, and
July 14, 2008 through
July 18, 2008 at USM - Hagerstown Center.
The Summer Author Institute offers the participants the
following activities:

Meet three children's authors and illustrators |
|
Purchase children's books and have them autographed
|
|
Receive three graduate or undergraduate credits in one week
|
|
Learn more about how you can share authors and illustrators
in your classroom |
|
Work individually and in groups with other educators |

3 Credit
Option:
Be one of 50
participants to spend a week with three well-known children’s authors this
summer, studying their work and participating in small group discussions.
Non-credit
Option:
Register for the Institute only, and you will be invited to share in three
days (July 10-14) of author presentations, discussions, and sessions
involving trends and practices in children’s literature.
Fall Author Series
The annual Fall
Author Series welcomed Melinda Chambers on October 3, 2007 at 7:30 at
the Frostburg City Place.
