Graduate Program - Orientation Weekend

Students will need to attend a 3-day orientation at FSU’s main campus prior to the start of the new cohort.

This orientation will typically take place the first Thursday-Saturday of August. Students will need to make their own travel arrangements, but a lodging and meals package will be offered. Total orientation costs are approximately $250 and include all meals from Thursday lunch – Saturday lunch, 2 nights lodging and a group outing on Saturday.

Students will also be encouraged to return to campus the day prior to their graduation to present their final projects to the campus community. Although this is encouraged, it is not a requirement of the program.

The orientation weekend will consist of:

  • Getting to know your cohort
  • Blackboard, PAWS and registration software tutorials
  • Receiving your student IDs
  • Library tutorial
  • Introduction to the help desk
  • Faculty & staff meet ‘n greet
  • Team building activity with ASCI at Deep Creek Lake
  • Program Overview & Q&A Sessions
  • Opportunity to view and discuss past student projects
  • Trip to the bookstore
