LaFemina, Poetry
Gerry LaFemina's first collection of stories, Proofreading America and
Other Stories is forthcoming; his numerous collections of poetry include
Graffiti Heart, winner of the 2001 Anthony Piccione/MAMMOTH Books Poetry
Prize, The Window Facing Winter, and The Parakeets of Brooklyn, which
received the 2003 Bordighera Prize and was published in a bilingual edition
of English and Italian. A noted writer and teacher, LaFemina was nominated
for the Michigan Governor's Arts Educator of the Year award in 2000, served
on the Board of Directors of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs
(AWP), and has published essays, fiction, and poetry in a variety of journals.
Andy
Duncan, Speculative Fiction Andy Duncan has won two World Fantasy Awards and the Theodore Sturgeon
Memorial Award for best science-fiction story of the year. His books include
Beluthahatchie and Other Stories, a fiction collection; Crossroads: Tales
of the Southern Literary Fantastic, a fiction anthology co-edited with
F. Brett Cox; and Alabama Curiosities, non-fiction. An assistant professor
in the English department of Frostburg State University, he also teaches
seminars in 21st-century science fiction and fantasy in the Honors College
of the University of Alabama.

Juska, Fiction
Elise Juska
is the author of three novels (Simon & Schuster): One for Sorrow,
Two for Joy; The Hazards of Sleeping Alone; and Getting Over Jack Wagner,
which was a "Critic's Choice" in People magazine and optioned
for
feature film. Her short stories have appeared in magazines including *The
Hudson Review*, *Harvard Review*, *The Carolina Quarterly*, *Salmagundi*,
Good Housekeeping, *Black Warrior Review*, and *The Seattle Review*. She
has taught fiction writing workshops at the University of New Hampshire,
the New School in NYC, and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia,
where she received the Director's Award for Teaching Excellence.
