June 16-22, 2013 Held at scenic Frostburg State University, home to noted writers Barbara Hurd (author of Stirring the Mud and Entering the Stone), Brad Barkley (Allison's Automotive Repair Manual and Another Perfect Catastrophe and Other Stories) and Gerry LaFemina (The Window Facing Winter and The Parakeets of Brooklyn), the Creative Writing Workshop is an opportunity for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to spend a week of intensive study in poetry and fiction. This year, creative writing students will be able to concentrate on fiction or poetry, in small, seminar-style workshops taught by Michelle Yost and Jessica Growden. Students will produce polished stories and poems, have the opportunity to publish their finished work on the Web, and a chance to read their completed work to an audience of their peers and family at the end of the week.
