WEDNESDAY, OCT. 26 | 7:30 PM
Pealer Recital Hall, Performing Arts Center
Just in time for the 2016 presidential election, the skilled satirists of the Capitol Steps present an uproarious evening of political comedy. These Washington comedians emerged in 1981 as a group of Senate staffers who set out to lampoon the very people and places that employed them.
Digging into the headlines, the Capitol Steps’ song parodies and skits convey a special brand of humor. Sidesplitting bipartisan fun serves as an antidote to campaign seriousness in all its forms. It’s a boisterous, ego-puncturing and – yes – even uplifting look at the chaos, the issues, the speeches, the posturing and the personalities that are all a part of an election year.
