ABOUT SOFI

The SOFI Program allows incoming freshmen to take popular introductory courses before the start of the fall semester. Students register for SOFI courses during their scheduled Summer Orientation ("Preview Frostburg") in June as they plan for their fall class schedules with the assistance of faculty advisors.

Advantages:

  • SOFI courses allow students to take a more advanced course schedule during the fall semester and often move more quickly through their academic majors.
  • SOFI students can arrange their fall schedule in a way that allows extra time for sports and campus activities
