CONTEST UPDATE 4/9/2008 CAST YOUR VOTE in Frostburg: Take 5 YouTube Contest! The Division of Communications and Media Relations and the Department of Mass Communication will announce the TOP FIVE WINNERS of the Frostburg: Take 5 YouTube contest during a screening of winning entries from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, in Dunkle 218 on the FSU campus. Join us in congratulating the winners and check out how creative our students and alumni can be. Stick around for an informal discussion about YouTube and its role in communicating Frostburg State University to the rest of the world. The campus community is also invited to cast their votes for their favorite entries: we have added a “People’s Choice Award,” which will be determined by an online vote. Click here and vote for your favorite video, using the star ranking: Simply click on the video, look right below the video for the line that says “Rate” with stars next to it, and using your mouse, click on how many stars you think the video should get. You can only vote for a video once, and if you decide to leave a comment, please be tactful and show respect for our contestants. We will evaluate the ratings and announce the “People’s Choice” award, along with all the other Take 5 winners, at the video screening April 29. FROSTBURG: TAKE 5 LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE TALENT! Want your work to be seen by thousands? Interested in impressing fellow Web surfers with your technical skills and innovation? If so, Frostburg: Take 5 could be your big ticket! The Division of Communications and Media Relations and the Department of Mass Communication at Frostburg State University are looking for YouTube clips to help them spread the word about Frostburg State University, as part of Frostburg: Take 5, a University-wide contest coming that invites students and alumni to get involved in marketing FSU— via YouTube!
FIVE winners will be chosen by a panel of judges that includes Emmy award-winning TV writer/producer Greg Garcia. Winning selections will be shown during a special screening at Palace Theatre in downtown Frostburg—and eventually highlighted on the FSU Web site and on a special Frostburg YouTube channel! Great prizes are also in store … To participate, you must be a student or alum. You can either post your clip online by becoming a member on our YouTube Group, or burn your clip to a DVD or CD in Quicktime Movie format and drop it off or mail it to:
